San Carlo College

The garage of Parcheggio Zenale is located in the same complex of the private school
“Collegio San Carlo” (San Carlo College), historical milanese institute founded in 1869. We offer discounts to all workers and students of the college, thanks to a particular agreement.
The office is in corso Magenta 71, in front of Santa Maria delle Grazie basilica and Cenacolo Vinciano. The San Carlo College is placed at the Busca-Arconati-Visconti palace, residence of Busca family since XVI century. The current building shows austere and solemn neoclassic forms, while on the inside the halls are baroque and some decorations have been released by Andrea Appiani.

The college has started its activity in 1869 as male high school with only six students under the direction of Giovanni Battista Compagnoni.
The college aims at “building rich well-cultured souls and preserve them from irreligion”. Born thanks to the archbishops’ support, the college was unrelated to the instruction orders. An exceptional student of that period was Achille Ratti, future pope under the name Pio XI, in the year 1874/75 and passes the exams with the highest marks.

Today schools comprised in San Carlo College are:

  • nursery school
  • kindergarten
  • junior high
  • primary school
  • classical high school
  • scientific high school
  • human sciences high school
  • international intercultural high school
